Your favorite movies, post them! I just know you have at least one or two that you can just hug to death. Oh and supply some arguments.
My favorite action movie/overall favorite movie: Equilibrium
Background: Equilibrium is a movie that takes place in the future, where emotions are outlawed and the entire population drugs itself to make sure they won't be able to feel any emotions ever again. Ofcourse, some people aren't happy with this and these people are part of the resistance that have hidden stashes of art all over. To counter them, the "president" - a man named Father - created a new arm of the law; the grammatron cleric (kind of a super agent, in lame terms) which is - due to extensive research - as good as unbeatable in combat. However, the best agent they have - Cleric John Preston - is starting to rebel against the system..
Reason: Great music. Great performances. Great atmosphere, and an overall great message. It's just a blast to watch, and I have the entire soundtrack on my pc to listen to whenever I need some peace of mind. Also, there are some scenes in the movie that I especially like; like when a man is secretly feeding his emotional needs (in the middle of a giant group of people) by softly touching the railing of the stairs on which he's walking. There are plenty of small things like this to be found in Equilibrium, and I never get tired of them.
There you go
Ofcourse I love a whole lot of movies but Eq always sticks out.. plus I don't feel like writing anymore now Looking forward to replies! |

I quite like that movie, even though the plot is a bit far fetched. Nice film.
I don't have a huge current favourite, I guess the LOTR trilogy is still my favourite, mostly becouse I loved reading the book when I was young and I think the movies captured the 'spirit' of the book very well. Mostly nostalgia I guess. But it's also well acted, the action scenes are great and the overall story is still very strong. _________________

You gotta see it Numan, Equilibrium is incredibly good.
I don't know if I really have a favourite movie, but Dobermann sticks out as a movie which impressed me much when I saw it first years ago. _________________

I've always loved movies starring Harrison Ford.
One movie stands alone in the spotlight in my opinion:
This is a rare appearance in a sci-fi movie from Harrison Ford.
The ambience in this film is very good.
Quote from the movie:
Deckard:
[voice-over] I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life, anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.
******************
Deckard: You're reading a magazine. You come across a full-page nude photo of a girl.
Rachael: Is this testing whether I'm a replicant or a lesbian, Mr. Deckard? _________________ Share my sacrifice! |
